It is a natural ancient tradition of hair removal that is made of sugar + lemon juice + water and thas been in use since 1900 BC from ancient Egypt. It removes unwanted hair by applying a paste of sugar on the opposite direction of hair growth and flicking it in the direction of the hair grows! this causes less breakage, irritation & ingrown hairs. This ancient hair removal method is best for those who are sensitive because of its gentler nature.
For all Bikini services & Brazilians please allow hair to grow out or trim down at least a quarter of an inch! Please shower or freshen up before your appointment and I suggest to avoid Tanning for 24 hours. You can gently exfoliate (do not use harsh chemicals) on the area the night before & apply lotion daily until the day of. For your first time I do recommend to take Tylenol or ibprofen 30 min before you appointment.
This implies to all sugaring services! No exfoliation after 48 hours then after you should be exfoliating 2-3x a week to prevent ingrown hairs and moisturize daily.
No sex (Brazilian), pool, gym, hot baths, saunas or scented deodorant for 24 hours.
Avoid any retinoids & harsh chemicals on for a few days before sugaring anywhere on the face.
DO NOT SHAVE IN BETWEEN APPOINTMENT! it will feel like starting all over.
From your last appointment you must wait between 4-6 weeks for your next maintenance! brows can be done sooner, 3-4 weeks.
If its passed 6 weeks the hair could be too long. While molding the sugar onto the skin - it can drag and pull the hair & skin which will cause your experience to be more discomforting and painful.
when you keep up with your monthly maintenance you will notice your regrowth will be significantly reduce.
Yes you can! We can sugar you while you are on your period but please do keep in mind you will be more sensitive and may experience discomfort more than usual. You must wear a tampon and take Tylenol 30 min before your appointment.
If you'd rather not get sugared on your period then please email/text/call to reschedule. We are more than happy to get you in on another day for you to be more comfortable.
Yes! Sugaring hair removal is safe for pregnancy. It is the best option than waxing because it is less abrasive and less painful. This includes Brazilian & bikini hair removal.
Be aware you will be more sensitive than usual due to the hormonal changes. You will have more blood pumping in the body which will cause more intense feeling and discomfort.
if you have never been sugared or waxed before then I suggest to start as soon as you can. We can start with something more simple and easier like brows, lip, underarms, bikini or French bikini. and with your doctors approval, you can take Tylenol 30 min before your appointment.
For the regulars, it will be a lot easier for you if you have already been sugaring/waxing consistently before pregnancy.
Please stay consistent. There will be less hair, less ingrown, less irritation
Absolutely not! Sugaring or waxing the hair will not grow back thicker when you remove it from the root. sugaring damages the hair follicle so it will thin it out, grow in sparse and feels softer when you are consistent (4-6 weeks) and strictly follow your home care.
The only way it will appear "thicker" is when you shave it because you are cutting the middle of the hair shaft and that will give the hair a blunt tip and feel prickly.
